NeighborWorks Insurance Alliance
NeighborWorks America convenes the NeighborWorks Insurance Alliance (NIA) to develop partnerships between the insurance industry and community-based organizations to better market insurance products and services in untapped markets. The group includes representation from America's top property & casualty insurance carriers. The task force includes participation from insurance industry trade associations, insurance regulators, educational institutions, NeighborWorks America, and members of the NeighborWorks network. The NIA's Loss Prevention Partnership works with the insurance industry to provide risk mitigation training for homeowners in low-income areas. The seminars allow individual agents to strengthen ties in the community, while promoting home safety and security and at the same time providing insurance companies with an opportunity to reduce overall losses.

The NIA's Web site shows how the insurance industry is working effectively with local nonprofit members of the NeighborWorks network and offers partnership-related publications and other resources.
